Buddy watched a pack of wolves take down an elk at the Ya Ha Tinda, then a Grizz came along to take the prize. No muss, no fuss, they just left. Interesting part was, the rest of the herd just stood and watched while all this was happening. Hey look, Mabel's turn to go down. :d

Wolf predation on Coastal Black Bears is very high until they get to the age of two.I've watched a pack try and separate a young Grizz from her cub to kill it. Once those bears get big it switches, nature is always about balance.
 
Many years ago we were hunting a boggy area near Valleyview, Alberta looking for moose. In a small clearing in the middle of a willow thicket there was a trampled area where a pack of coyotes (yes, coyotes, not wolves) had tried for a moose. Pressed down into the moss and muck was the body of a coyote with a large hoofprint right behind the shoulder. Other then a lot of blood and hair there was no sign that the moose had fared poorly. Coyotes spend a lot of time trying to separate domestic cow,deer, and moose young from their mothers. It was good to see some payback.
 
Pics look a bit staged. How does a British tourist get up close pics of a wolf pack and a Grizz on a deer kill without scaring either off or becoming part of the pics?
Bear doesn't have any visible canine teeth either. May be one of those defanged TV bears?

Both wolves and grizzlies are sacred cows in the lower 48 with the result that they have not fear. Plus I suspect this was in a National Park.

A quick Google search shows the guy is a renowned wildlife photographer. The equipment and lenses out there today are amazing, I've seen it first hand.
