Hi all,

I noticed on the EE a Grizzly 8.5 that had been converted to 3+1 as opposed to standard 2+1 with
stock tube. The owner kindly advised me that he had the work done at a gunsmith and was unsure
of the process.

So I just wondered how this had been done without increasing the lenght of the tube. Only thing I
can think of is there was bung in the tube decreasing from the factory.

Does anyone know?

Cheers
Matt

Are you sure the tube was not lengthened? Doing so will not damage anything, have a look at 3 gun rigs where the tube sticks out 3+ rounds past the barrel.

Follower mod, I believe.

there are two common ways i have tryed both and settled on #2

#1 remove the black plastic peace at the nut end of the mag tube, this will let you fit 3 2and3/4 shells and is reversable, however the peace has ridges that stop the nut at the end of the mag tube from backing off, not a big deal if your shooting it at a range where you can just check its still tight before shooting possibly a bigger deal if you use it liek i use mine and it rides in a truck and on a quad and if you use it you might not think to check the nut (the nut holds the barrel in as well remember)

#2 trim the black plastic peace on the nut end and trim the orange follower enough to fit 3 2and 3/4 shells, be sure to leave the black peace long enough that it engadges the dimples on the mag tube, cut a little off and check it if you take too much off the follower it could turn sideways and get stuck in the mag tube causing a ftf,

i trimmed mine in the end as i dint like the idea of the nut not having a lock of some sort, lots of people i know use white out as a low strenght lock tight and that would work im sure, i have yet to have my follower stick in the tube
