Grizzly at 9 yards

My question for you sheephunter is; Why did Vanessa wait for you to tell her to shoot again. She has hunted with you enough that I expected a quick follow up shot. Never having been that close to a grizzly ( and not really wanting to be), the close quarters may have meant you wanted it farther away before you pissed it off some more. I am not trying to be a jerk, just trying to understand. I guess being there things seem to happen fast.
Congrats to Vanessa on a great bear.

I have a couple of buddies that G bear hunt a bit , they say nothing in north america will get your heart pumping harder ... i see why. Great footage by the way, and looks like a dandy bear

Not really sure she waited...it was coming out of my mouth as she was reloading and acquiring the target again. It's just one of those things you say when you have a grizzly at 9 yards with a bullet in it...lol I'd have said the same thing to anyone regardless of what they were doing. When you look at the time that elapsed between the first and second shot, I'm pretty sure she wasn't waiting for me to tell her to shoot again.

I too figured the bear looked up and figured "hey new buddies, what are they doin way out here?" Looked like he smiled to me and was happy to see them.

Bear looks up, sees hunter with gun pointed at him, thinks "damn... so this is how it ends". Good night.

I found this kind of sad.

(yeah yeah I know...)

Sure look like the bear was sniffing and looking thinking with it's mouth open IS THAT MY NEXT MEAL?

A good woman always waits for instructions from her husband. FS

who was the cameraman? He did a very good job until he moved the lense toward the sky.

That was when he threw the camera to grab the back up rifle......he should have stayed on the bear.....there was no need....lol
