Grizzly Bear attack! >*Warning Graphic Pictures!*< Bites Mans face off

Holy...just when I think I'm over my fear of bears.

So forget all the "best gun" discussions, whats realistically the best caliber to anchor a grizzly in two decently placed shots? 45-70? 12g slugs?

It doesn't matter what gun you have.. if you only have it "half out" when the thing is full charge, it might as well be a sling shot.

I'm glad the man pulled through that... cool thinking to remain so composed.

So, since we are obliged to purchase licenses to hunt or trap (and pay royalties) crown property, does the crown pay restitution for when it's property damages people or private property?

That there is pretty hardcore! I hope he went and bought a lottery ticket cause he's one lucky SOB.

Also makes me wish I could carry my 44 Mag revolver around in the woods. Most likely never need it, but damned if I wouldn't like to have it for that one time you do need it.

A fast round, fast being relative, over 2500fps. I’ve seen a good deal of Grizzlies shot guiding the hunts and by far the most effective rounds are the 7mm, .300, .338, and .375 mags. The .45-70 / .450 Marlin crowd are amongst the worst on bears as stoppers, despite popular conception.

Holy frack!!!!
That first picture of the guy. I just assumed he was a corpse. Probably 1 in a million chance some one would survive that kind of injury.
