Grizzly Bear Numbers Double in Alberta

I am wondering about this also. I frequently go to the Yukon and had never seen grizzlies there, just lots of black bears.
But over the past five years, I have been seeing grizzly bears in the central Yukon (Carmacks, Pelly Crossing). Whats up?

sorry for that news but someone was killed by a bear in Ross River, heard that this morning on cbc news north, they are thinking it was a grizzly.

That is awful. I am sorry to hear about people dying of bear attack in Yukon, it seems to be happening more than it used to.
I was reading in the Yukon News about a bear coming into a house (Johnson's Crossing, maybe?) and killing a woman, sometime earlier this year if I remember correctly. Actually, it was a year ago, Claudia Huber, mauled by a grizzly which was then shot by her husband but died of her injuries
later in hospital.
