Back in the Peace Country
Saw two nice Grizzly Bears while out a quick hunt today. They looked to be in tremendous shape, enjoying the fresh scents on the breeze.

A couple of people up around here have been mauled this year...

Another few weeks and they'll be gone to bed

F&W trapped one where we elk hunt on Nov 15 last year. Had one chase us off an elk kill in the mountains on Nov 20 a few years back. Think I've seen grizz tracks every month of the year, except January maybe.
 
They seem to be more out and about in the colder months than black bears
I hunt a lot in on Nose Mountain and around the Torrens and they're always up and on the go early in the year... Cutbank and Kakwa area same thing
Other places, I never see them except for warm weather
 
Seen a nice one just south of Grande Cache last week,sorry about the crappy cellhone pic.

Good camera was back at camp..
