Grizzly Buttstock change

Hey guys, a shopkeeper told me that I cannot change the stock of a norinco/dominion arms because they use metric threading, while remington parts use the imperial.

Anyone tried changing the grizzly/norinco stocks?

yep you need to get the nut that screws into the reciever tapped for the proper remington size.....i have my stock switched over to the mesa tactical high tube

Does the Grizzly barrel fit on a Remington 870 receiver?

stores sell metric threaded hardware, if the originnal hardware is the wrong lenth,....who's your gunsmith? ...should either of you be working on firearms?

i got the nut threaded by a gunsmith for free its pretty straight forward buddy

I've changed 4 norc stocks over the years with no problems with using the hardware that comes with the replacement stock.

Its fine Ive done it lots the only one thats different is the 8"

Have you tried full power 3" loads? Did it explode on you??? I meant, how many rounds have you shot through it?

I was worried about the barrel-bolt lock up being off, or not tight..

Some people have indexing issues but mine have all been great
Some people have issues some don't

Yes they fit and NO it wont explode, the Norc/Dom barrels are FAR thicker then factory 870 barrels, an I've got well over 20K rounds through mine, I bought it when they first arrived here in 2008.

Mine has been through every type of weather possible in Canada from salt water exposure in the summer to -35c and colder way up north, zero issues.

I changed the stock on my HP9 with no issues. The ATI stock came with all the necessary hardware.

Focusing more on the barrel swap, how would you know that it is a no-go? is it just that the length between the "breech of the chamber" and the "locking face of the barrel extension" will be the problem?

Is it that norinco/dominion arms breech to locking face have different dimensions to the remington 870? Could anyone of you confirm?

I changed the stock on my Grizzly to a Hogue 12" LOP stock with no problems, also the forend which required some inside sanding to fit the mag tube.

changine barrels isnt a big deal. sfrc actually sells remington recevers with 14 inch norinco barrels. the 8.5's wont work because there (dont know the right term) "band" is in the wrong place. also some new remingtons have longer mag tubes so the barrels wouldnt work on them. other than that good to go
