Grizzly Choke Tube

On the advice of threads in this forum I bought a set of Invector Chokes to fit my new 12.5 Inch Grizzly. The stock Grizzly choke appears to be improved modified or there abouts and I want to open it up some.

So...Here's the bad news. The Invector key won't fit. Do the Grizzlies use invector chokes and what key will get the stock choke out?

She is in too tight for a quarter to work. Did you try fitting an invector choke in it's place and do they fit?

If so I'll make a custom wrench.

Use a pair of pliers to hold the quarter and turn out the choke. Lot more torque then then by just useing fingers.

yes..I tried that but I bend the quarter. She is pretty tight.

Squirt some Kroil - wait 20 mins - should do the trick

Have you shot the gun yet? Mine was really loose...but I removed it after about 20 rounds..

I have about 100 rounds through it. Can't budge the tube. I have tried penetrating oil..no luck yet. Will make a custom wrench and see if more leverage will help.

Thanks....however if I twist any harder I am scared I might hurt myself...or worse, break the gun.

O.K. A buck and a quarter of twisted quarters suggests I need a different solution.

Barrel removed and in the freezer. What do you think about flash touching the outside of the barrel with a propane torch to heat it up a bit before trying the twist?

I had luck with freezing before.If that don't work then try a little heat.

Freezing does nothing nor does heating to just to hot to touch.

One more quarter destroyed.

This is ridiculous!

Cross threaded? Burr? whatever it is I think I need a gunsmith to help me. Of course we don't have any up here.

Try 2-3 quarter thick, and use pipe pliers, with 3 thick the one in the middle shouldn't bent and the pliers will give more than enought force.
