Grizzly Hunt Ban in BC

People usually get the government they deserve and thus the policies they deserve.
One big factor is that there aren't any good choices on the ballot slip any more.
Just bad and worse choices with voters picking the lesser of several evils.

Can't blame the ones that quit voting.
It's a waste of gas driving to the polls any more.

So has anyone actually come out and said what this means? Is it as basic as them not issuing CITES permits?

slow cooker is perfect for bear meat ... bourguignon and gulasz can be great ...

i will try the recipe you found. very interesting.

You won't be disappointed. Those I shared with liked it more than normal pulled pork. I will have to make bourguignon at some point. Just have to find a black bear.

The thing that gets me is the number of communities considering expensive deer culls in their boundaries. You also hear about problem bears and it never ends well. For the animal that is. Most of the people that are going to say "stop hunting" are also bull chit meat eaters that don't want to know where the meat came from other than being died pink and put on a styrofoam tray. For the vegetable only crowd, this sounds fantastic. Maybe they will pay for a tour of the wilderness to see Grizzlies feeding. But what they will not see is the younger, weaker grizzlies being consumed by the alpha males. Taking 250 out of 15,000 will never hurt the herd.

Has there been an official release yet? I'm curious as to the details about the trophy ban. One source I read said they won't be allowed to leave the province, another said possession is verboten... Makes me wonder if BC Residents will still be able to keep the trophies... (Which would make for a convenient loophole for natives to do their thing without this impacting them)

Watch in the next couple of years. Attacks on people will go up populations are already high and their food sources are getting smaller every year. Theres going to be more and hungrier bears.

Get bear.
Put barrel in big beer kooler filled with water and 1 cup of vinegar.
Put bear in barrel just off the bottom.
Let stand for a few days.
Heavy oil/ grease will fall too bottom of barrel.
Remove bear and hang for a few days.
Invite friends and family over.
Fire up BBQ.
Enjoy the good times as they are some tasty.

Yum Yum

The affected outfitters need to get together and hire a lawyer to seek compensation from the province.

X2 The outfitters just took the onion - big time, especially the newer guys that paid big bucks with no real time to make it back.

It would be interesting, because a courtroom would have to assess culpability, which would provide a platform to provide "scientific" rational... perhaps clear up the fog of rhetoric in an "official" space where it can be disemminated "sans" hype and emotionalism... I bet "that" story would float like a lead balloon.
