Grizzly in 7-2 (BC)

Hi,

I was lucky enough to get a LEH Grizzly tag for 7-2.
I haven't hunted around Valemount before, and I hoped someone here might have some tips/help/advice.

When is there too much snow to hunt? We were going to be hunting primarily on foot, no atv, no snowmobile.


I'm sure there are other questions I ought to be asking, but I'm drawing a blank right now. Mostly I'm just trying to figure out when I ought to be going up.

I say go deep into the valleys and even try to get up on the alpine. Glass the avalance tracks and alpine looking for evidence of earth moving digs - griz looking for roots and gophers. If you find lots of digging activity, hunker down with your optics and glass until the griz reveals himself. We had griz scat in our moose camp in 7-04 a few years ago! Good luck.
