Grizzly: Remington R3 Recoil pad?

Do they fit? made for 870...

You should check to make sure since the holes for wood stock replacements are not in the same location as synthetic and I don't recall if the chinese synthetic stock was exactly in the same location as the Remington ones.

You can also re-drill of course...or get the unfinished one.

There will probably be some fitting required. The butt plates from different guns of the same model are not usually a smooth direct fit. They always seem to be out a little bit.

i strongly doubt that they would.
the R3 recoil pads from synthetic stocked Remmy's dont just fit the butt of the gun but actually have a flange that extends inside the hollow buttstock.

the Grizzly factory stock is both a different shape and an entirely different design - especially the hollow part of the buttplate - than the Remington so i dont think it would fit. i could be wrong - i never actually tried, just going based on what the inside of the Grizzly buttstock looked like. i sold my factory Grizzly buttstock and replaced it with an 870P wood set.

your best bet would be just to order an entire aftermarket stock for the Grizzly - either a take-off Remmy synthetic or a hogue or something - and sell your original Grizzly synthetic on the EE. probably wouldnt cost you much more than the recoil pad itself that way, and you wouldnt run into any fitting issues.

also - the forend tube on the Grizzly is slightly oversized, so youll have to get a broomhandle and a sheet of sandpaper and sand a thou off the inside of any 870-spec forends you intend to replace it with. if you dont, and its a synthetic forend, youll never get it off. if its wood, itll probably split right down the middle.

We compared a grizzly stock with the 870, the Grizzly is narrower and a different pattern inside. possibly a Small ggrind to fit Limbsaver might work.

I replaced the grizzly butt stock and foregrip with a SPEEDFEED II set. I actually managed to break the butt stock that came with it. I much prefer the SPEEDFEED, and it will fit a Remington R3 recoil pad.

Guess I'll buy a grind to fit.

Gun should be here friday, gonna have the time to get the recoil pad before saturday morning.

(She me not know I bought near 2000$ in guns and ammo while she was out) :D

"Yeah got the whole bunch for about 800$, couldn't pass on it" :D lol

Oh yeah, +480$ for the safe ;)
