Oh for gods sake.
W. And if the guy's original post wasn't enough, gatehouse sealed the deal with his "i've never had a tag but i've hunted and shot 'em.' comment.
?
Only illegal if you attach it to the rifleHow about importing little personal-sized battery operated fans to take to hunting camp?
Oh yeah, I heard about that!
...still, anyone named Warren can't be ALL bad......
Meaning I have gone hunting for grizzly with friends with tags, and have backed them up, as is often customary. All nice and legit.
Gatehouse - i'm not sure what part of 'no illegal discussions' is confusing you.
IF you are breaking the law and you feel that the co's are fine with that or whatever, that's up to you, but you won't be discussing it on this board. I hope that's clear enough.
"Backing up," someone shooting a grizzly has always been a sore spot. Away back in time there were many guided hunters who got furious when their guide "backed them up," by shooting their grizzly as soon as the paid hunter fired one shot. The guides excuse was he didn't want to follow a wounded grizzly.
The BC Game Dept. responded by making it illegal for a guide to even carry a rifle while guiding. This was in effect in 1946 when I got my first BC hunting licence. It wasn't just guiding for grizzly, but all guiding, because there were too many reports of the guide shooting the game. I don't know when this law was dropped, but I presume it is no longer in effect.
I've got a call into the ministry to verify - if they say you're right then i'll appologize and repost it.Nothing I said in the post you deleted woudl be considered "Illegal" by anyone else but you...
Back up/Second Shot: Is it legal if you do not have a tag or party tag? Is it legal if your tag does not go on the animal? I have always thought it was illegal, even though a lot do it locally with moose. Is dangerous game/grizzlies different? Are their different rules for guides?
