So true!! I reported to our wildlife branch a big cow moose that had been shot and left in the bush just off a domant logging road.
I knew the CO quite well, and he agreed to come out to take a look. He showed up about 2 hours later, and I drew a rough map to
the location of the moose.

He took off, but was back within an hour. He said: "You know, I could see where the moose had been, but I did not want to argue
possession with the grizzly that has taken it." She was a big cow, yet that grizzly had dragged it away quite some distance.

All this occurred within about a 5 hour window. I never actually saw this grizzly, but I did see the paw print. He was a bigg'un. Dave.
 
That was amazing, would that elk have stood a better chance fighting it out on land or was it pretty much done with that injured leg?
