Grizzly won't hold 4 in the tube.

This weekend I tried and my Grizzly would barely hold 4 in the tube, the last one was pretty damned tight. After sitting leaning up against a tree for a few hours or maybe next to me in the tent for the night, I checked and the 4th one had popped into the receiver and jammed itself. This was without racking it. I went to pump it out and it dented the shell as it hadn't been racked into the chamber, it just popped out of the tube.

Any ideas?

Does it have a plug in it? My guess is you are bending the plastic rod enough to jam the 4th round in.

Buy a older Remington 870

Did you load it with 2-3/4" or 3" shells?

If you switched out your follower you'll likely lose that 4th round with 3" shells. You should be able to fit 4 of either if you haven't.

There is not a plug in it, and they are 2 3/4" shells. I did replace the original cap(which I lost) with a happy cap.

OK, I just took the mag cap off and saw that the little thing that you twist to take out that keeps the spring from going against the mag cap was stuck in around 1.5" in when it is supposed to be right up at the end. After twisting it around a little bit in there, I got it stuck in at the correct spot. Then I tried and it fit 4 2 3/4" shells with a bit over an inch to spare. Fixed.
