Hi all, new to groundhog hunting, I live in SW Ontario. I have permission at a couple of farms so far. Now is it too late or when is the best time to go groundhog hunting?
Now is a great time to go out. I had some great luck in some planted fields last w/e. If you're hunting hayfields, the grass may be a bit long right now, but first cut will come off very shortly and then you can't miss 'em.
First cut Hay is coming off right now where I am, just West of London. I see the buggers in the early to late afternoon. Most farmers out here won't mind you blasting the groundhogs, just stop in and have a chat first.
Shot two out at the farm last weekend just north of Belleville. There are lots more but the hay is too high and the dink that cuts ours doesn't bother till nearly October. He has to pay the old man $2000 each cut so the ass hat only cuts once a year need to find a new guy to cut this hay next year if anyone in the area knows some one let me know.

Where are you exactly ? If you have permission at a couple of farms - that is very good. This is actually what I am trying to get here near Montreal for the same pourpose.
