[/IMG]Just customized a target for my group in a dime personal challenge, a fellow cgner succeded at grouping 5 shots in a dime size target @ 300 metres ( shots were covered completly by a dime)... Slowly the idea grew and this i want to try to do, the middle of my target is .7... This is a the dime size... JP.

5 shots under a dime at 300m is impressive. A friend of mine is trying to get 5 shots under a dime at 100m and hasn't quite gotten there yet...

What rifle / caliber will you be doing this with?

308, just got a very high magnification scope from Mystic, and my pet load will be (hopefully ) super fine tuned... JP.
 
It wont be easy, i realize that tomochan was shooting a lot smaller bullet, my rifle and ammo are probably good for it, i will be the variable in that equation... JP.
 
Ive shot 4 shots in a quarter at 300 yards with my 7rem mag , If you get 5 in a dime at 300 ... I be impressed to say the least , Never thought of putting a dime over it lol

Good work but let me tell you it was the 5th shot that was the real stressful one especially with mates watching :)

I'm more than happy to see you complete this personal goal and congratulate you for it, but until then all this thread will do is allow for more posturing and arguing between members that seem to enjoy bickering with others. Something which I'm sure you have experienced Caramel.
 
The best I ever managed was 4 shots into a dime with a Ruger M77 Hbar (the older model with the blued steel and walnut stock) in .308. I was shooting 165 gr. Sierra Game Kings on top of 48 gr. of H380. This was at 100 yds. I'd tweaking up some new loads for the rifle, but I don't think I'm up to a dime sized group at 300 yds. Best of luck to you.

Not stressfull at all ... just didnt want ruin the group. I shoot 180's and my gun is sub .5 MOA all day long inside 600 yards. I didnt expect that group to happen, so i didnt want to ruin it with a possible flyer. Not the type of accuracy i need or expect out of that gun. Its an LR hunter in 7rem mag ... not a 6ppc. Im real happy with sub .5 MOA
