Why would you need a hunting licence to pick up a dead animal? If a bird hits your house and dies, that isn't hunting. If you take roadkill, do you need a hunting licence?

if you are found in posession of dead wildlife without a tag or permit for it you will be charged under the wildlife act of your province regardless of how the animal died.
