Grouse hunting 1hour from Vancouver

I'm originally from the Sunshine Coast where there is some good grouse hunting but now I'm living in Vancouver and don't know of any good places to go, any help or tips would be appreciated, thanks!

Anywhere N. of Mission, Harrison area, used to shoot the odd grouse on Sumas MTN in Abbotsford when i was a kid, seen them up in the Chilliwack lake area.

Used to do a lot of that in Squamish , the mamquam watershed . lots of log roads and slash. turn right just past the Chief parking lot on hwy 99 , and get at least 5 miles in. Area is used by cyclists so be aware.

Blackson, where the heck was there any "good grouse hunting" on the Sunshine Coast????

I lived there for over 25 years and rarely took more than 4 or 5 a year. One year my GSP and I looked for grouse often and went over 2 months between birds.

Besides the odd run in with some coveys of Blues, bird hunting on the coast sucked. Head into the interior somewhere if you want to find some birds.

Better yet, move to AB.

Well I guess you could say good compared to anywhere around Vancouver... I saw lots of grouse growing up in Halfmoon Bay, where were you looking? up the B&K?
