Anyone here own a rifle with a GRS stock? I saw them on the ATRS site and I was wondering if they are worth the price tag if I was to spring for a new stock to build a custom rife?

Likely be a varmint or dual purpose rifle, quite possibly from Mystic Precision since they seem like a good crew.

Cheers,
Wes

I don't own one but they had one as a door prize at the Western F Class championships a couple years back and I got to fondle it. I was very impressed with fit and finish. I would have picked one up for a build but they don't make the style I wanted in left hand.

I was on their website a week ago, apparently you can order a blank from them through a dealer, might be worth looking into. Red star something in Calgary sells GRS stocks, dunno which style you want but they might be able to get it for you....

Problem with the GRS is that it isn't just a straight inlet. The hand grip is very hand specific on their target stocks, you couldn't get away with just doing a left hand action inlet. The hunting stocks might be a little more suited to be ambi but I'm not sure.

I ended up with a Joe West and I'm very happy with it.

You are right, the pistol grip if you will is angled i think 5 degrees to the right, if my memory is good. Though I'm right handed so i don't have that issue... :)

They are Awesome!!! Worth the Cash. I have it on a Tikka T3 Varmint .204

Best money spent. I can now get 100% centered with my optic, perfect cheekweld and LOP

I've posted this before, but I'll repeat it again. I have a GRS Hybrid in blue/grey laminate. I chose the hybrid acct it doesn't have the hand hook on the bottom of the but stock. My only complaint is that the fore end is totally flat, like a true bench rest rifle, and doesn't have any curve on the bottom of the fore end. A bipod doesn't really fit all that well. Since GRS makes them one at a time, you could probably get them to contour the fore end to your liking. Not sure if there would be an up cost. It probably just a change in the CNC machine. I really liked the vibrant red color, but was worried it might come out a hot pink or something. I shoot off a table with a rest, so the flat fore end doesn't really effect me that much. Mine's for a Tikka T3 and I like it a lot.

Your concern is noted, I was eyeing up either the Hunter or the Sporter or if i wanted synthetic the Berserk. I've seen pics of a custom build with their Bolthorn folding stock but I'm not dropping $1800 on just a stock when i could got buy a Cadex for a few hundred cheaper and its Canadian made. Then i might just get a Cadex in their new Nuke chassis...
