Grungy 45acp primed cases....what to do?

Thank you for your solutions. However, investing in a universal recapping die is not cost effective. Depriiming all my other "clean" cases is easily accomplished. Just loading them will not accomplish my re-harvesting the LPP's for 44Spl.

I would be quite happy selling these grungy cases to in interested party for him to reload. It's not worth taking a chance soiling my 45acp sizer for such a small quantity. I might chance the tumbler idea.....

Having a universal decapping die is a good investment when cleaning brass before sizing and removing crimped primer pockets. This helps a great deal if you have semi-autos and your brass lands on the ground and can scratch your brass and dies. I wet tumble with stainless steel media to "scrub" the cases clean of dirt and grit, and the primers are removed before tumbling.

Okay.....I don't want to load, reload, fire, deprime or otherwise use the brass. I do not want to use the 45acp cases either.

I want to harvest the primers for another project, the cases are just a bonus.

You don't want to deprime the brass, but you want to harvest those primers...? What am I missing here?

As I previously mentioned, I pulled all the bullets from these aged cases. I prefer not to run them through my sizer/de-capper as they are grungy.
I have a use for the primers but that means they must come out. But not through my 45acp sizer. There is value in 203 primed cases, about C$32.00. Selling as is, would offset the cost of store bought primers. It's just not economical to purchase a universal de appear to use one time and never again.
What I am missing is an interested party willing to buy 203 grungy cases as is. Ideally....

You also previously said you wanted to harvest the primers but you didn't want to use any kind of depriming tool, so that's the part I was wondering about. :)

If people had an idea where you are, somebody close might be interested in buying the brass or lending you a universal depriming tool. Otherwise the EE would be the place to sell it.

In hind sight tumbling the grunge off before pulling the bullets would have been easy and probably pretty quick with fresh media.

There must be someone local to you, that would be willing to swap 200 primers for 200 primed cases.... Or some variation of that deal.

You keep stating that the cases are "gross". And then state the cases are worth $32....

I don't see it.... but perhaps I'm stunned....

A site sponsor is currently selling 1xf 45acp brass for $75/1000. Last I checked, at even the most outrageous prices possible, LPP are like $50/1000.

Extrapolate that to $25.00, if your brass was stainless steel tumbled and cleaned before priming.

I'd value your primed brass at about $11.00...

My $.02

Primers just pop out with constant pressure; start off light and slowly work up.
I've deprimed live cases (oops! Forgot to resize ) and reprimed with the deprimed primers and they all went bang no problem! Just nice and easy does it, and safety glasses as well as ear plugs probably wouldn't hurt either.

I acidently tumbled new primed cases a few years ago. Just loaded them up after running them in my empty dry tumbler to vibrate out any media. Shot just fine.
