I'll give it a shot, my use is identifying long range hits, will make some videos with the 300 and 338 out at near mile/mile.

I ain't prayin that!

Ok. I like the idea. I like its made here. But I'm gonna be the devils advocate.... You tell me why I'm wrong and I'll buy this product...

I can get a case of 24 Gryphon product at 149.99 for 24 x 1/2 pound targets. Unit price 6.25.
I can get a case of Tannerite product from another retailer for 69.87 for 20. Unit price 3.49.

That's almost double. Double for a Canadian product? I can't honestly actually believe I paid 3.49 a target for basically NH4NO3. It blows me away. I hope the containers are expensive for what the publics paying. I for one won't be buying "Canadian" for twice the price.

As well, if I buy the non-Gryphon brand the cost difference is still far greater than the 20 bucks I paid for shipping a case lot of the none Gryphon brand to me. And everyone is still gonna pay shipping on the Gryphon....

And in the end, why are we paying anywhere near this for these targets? Are retailers marking this up 4 to 5 hundred percent from factory? Is the factory pounding us hard? Both? This is the miracle product of the decade for making money!

Think about this: NH4NO3, is 4 hundred dollars a metric ton bulk. And that's at the high end! That's 2204 pounds. I know the flash powder and container will add to the cost, but powdered aluminum isn't expensive either.

Finishing words.... I can buy a can of broccoli and cheddar soup. They used ammonium nitrate (probably) to fertilize the broccoli cause it's so cheap! And I can buy that can, made of aluminum, and the contents for a buck! A single dollar! But the fertilizer to grow the broccoli I can't buy for cheaper than 7 bucks a pound?

We're getting hosed. I love the damn things..... In fact I'm addicted to them. But we're being taken to the cleaners! The shipping.... Should be the most expensive thing here.

We are a brand new company that manufactures every target by hand, with all components and materials sourced in Canada and the USA. Tannerite imports prelabeled containers from China and has existed for over a decade. Then there's little things like explosives manufacturing licenses, lease on our plant, and insurance which we have to pay for before we even send one target out the door.

And if you are able to find us bulk AN prill for $400 CAD/MT DDP to our plant we'd be very happy, as that's about the average cost for a 22 MT minimum order FOB Qingdao China in USD, excluding duty, tax, brokerage, freight, insurance, and exchange.

If the price isn't in line with your expectations that's fine, but ridiculing a manufacturer when you obviously have no clue about the industry and the real costs involved is inappropriate.

Don't know what u complained about?! AmmoSupply offers great prices...

Look, i just paid $2.50 for 750ml bottle of water at the gas station, meanwhile, my water bill was $2.58 for a cubic meter last month, thats 1,000,000ml, can fill 1333.33 bottles... when i drunk my bottle of water, i didn't ask "why are we paying anywhere near this for these water?" because i was freaking thirsty, and that bottle of water just made my day!

Keep up the good work! Thank you for producing those fantastic targets!

Oh Gosh! In stock... wife hid credit card... I want, I mean, NEED these!

We have the targets listed on the website, but they're not yet in stock. We're taking orders for a hopeful shipping date of late next week or early the following week :) But you are right that you *need* them. It goes in the same section as food and shelter for things we can't do without :)

We're very proud to support a high quality CANADIAN manufacturer of such a cool product. Gryphon have exceptional explosives experience and you can expect a very high quality product. I have heard tell that they are superior in their performance to other brands due to their ratios of ingredients, but I look forward to direct feedback from our customers in a couple of weeks!

I am fully expecting reports of increased seismic activity after our shipment arrives from Gryphon ;)

No no no.... I'm not ridiculing any single manufacturer. I'm noting I think ALL the manufacturers are taking us to town with these targets. Including Tannerite. At 400 bucks, let's say 800, double it for all the other costs... A tonne... The whole exploding target industry is making hay while the sun shines.

On a seperate note, I'm happy a Canadian company wants to jump in, that's great. But at 150 bucks a case of 24? Plus shipping? Ammosupply is one of my favorite companies, I have no issue with Gryphon. But when it can be offered at half that price somewhere for a hot product, and that seller must still be making good money. And that means somewhere down the line, there's big profit here and buyers are getting hosed. This is actually pretty easy math, I don't need in depth industry knowledge to call everyone out on it. It's no different than being a consumer for that can of soup I mentioned.

What you're saying, to me, is I don't have a right to question you, and that being a Canadian Start Up factors into that. It doesn't. I love the targets. But we're all paying too much.

I do need to point out here that shipping is included in our price on these targets!

I also know that Gryphon is sourcing high quality components and not shipping out a watered down version. It's not entirely unlike ammo where you can buy Norinco cheaper than Federal - it all goes bang but there are differences. Maybe Gryphon might lower their prices in time, but it's a heck of a lot of work, money and risk to start an enterprise like this, and we're REALLY glad they have! So thanks to all our customers supporting Gryphon Energetics :)

I don't know where you bought but I thought (and still think) that it's a great deal. Once I convince the wife to return my (or better yet, her) credit card I'm buying some up. I thought the price was right on par and the fact that Kate (and the great people of AmmoSupply) are offering to ship this to my door free of charge makes it even better. Plus, it's the closest exploding thing that I can come to "buying local" :)

Ordered. 2 Canadian companies, fair price and being in B.C. saved the sales tax. Can't go wrong here IMO. Sure I will be ordering more.
