GSG 110 Round Mag prohibited now?

"(2) Subject to subsection (4), every person commits an offence who possesses a prohibited weapon, a restricted weapon, a prohibited device, other than a replica firearm, or any prohibited ammunition, without being the holder of a licence under which the person may possess it.

Punishment
(3) Every person who commits an offence under subsection (1) or (2)
(a) is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years; or
(b) is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction."

So that means I could conceivably get a shorter sentence if conceal-carrying a pistol, than being in possession of a Buttler Creek 25-rounder, depending on if they wanted to "throw the book at me" or not? Sheesh.

It might not be Ruger's fault, but it certainly shows an ignorance on their part. Canada is about 10% of the US population and, because there are not magazine restrictions on these rifles, they are disproportionately favoured here; these are one of the most common rifles in the country. If this does lead to a ban on mags, then 10/22 sales in Canada will almost entirely cease. There is no way that will be offset by sales of the ridiculous Charger here, or in the US. I love my 10/22, but I would definitely seek another option if it was limited to the rotary mag. So while this may not be Ruger's fault, it might well prove to be a very poor business decision. Just my 2 cents.

This thread means nothing until the RCMP makes a public announcement or publishes it on the website. I just got one a few weeks ago from cabelas and still have the receipt. There were quite a few in stock.

A private email does not concern me.

If anyone is afraid and wants to donate their mag PM me...

The ones at cabelas all said Canadian version 10-22... I am not sure what the packaging for the original one was like or what it said on it....

We open up our mag limits, when we open up our wallets! If every member of this site chipped in at least a qwarta...legal fight would be won in about ten minutes.

NFA's the only group getting any more of my donation funds, period!
Im glad we opened this crazy can of worms, we've been shooting 10 round mags in rifles so far, no blood in the streets yet.
I'm sure people have been shooting 25, 50, and 110 round mags in charger pistols so far, no blood in the streets yet.
And the remaining fact that anyone with a drill and 5 minutes of time can open up their pmags to 30 or 40 rounds anyway....
It's time the magazine capacity laws are re-visited from a COMMON SENSE point of view.
We need a superhero like the NFA to rise up and educate some sheep.

I think our money is much better spent on NFA, or (god forbid CSSA) rather than the government (conservative or otherwise).

We still sell them at Cabela's. We have a lot in stock(Barrie) and sell a lot. If that's suggesting anything.

Boy u guys are a bit paranoid....the original answer clearly states pistol.....if you get caught with it in a rifle it won't be an issue...judges are not that dumb.....I mean really what do you think they would do? When you hear hoof prints don't look for zebras!

Remember many of you have quotes about-how fair and reasonable Canadians are in your avatars. Even the long gun registry while it was a waste of money and we could have spent that money buying mammogram machine or other medical devices that would've saved a lot more lives it was nonetheless the biggest nonissue as a gun owner in the last 50 years or maybe even ever.

No you tried to import BX-25X2 mags knowing full well they were prohibited and then raised a ruckus and whined to anyone who would listen... creating as much noise around a subject that any shooter with a quarter brain was staying quiet about... I thought your "court date" was in "August"... you were going to fix everything for all of us Canadian shooters... I would rather be represented by a fence post...

I wonder if Airwolfs "case" to get his BX50's is what opened this can of worms with all >10 rd 10/22 mags we are facing. ####waffle that he is, should have never tried to import something he knew was on CBSA radar, and then go and make a stink about it.

One of the tech's I talked with let it slip that that was their plan way before LAW even started his thing. I would bet they've been planning this ever since the Charger came out.
