Hi

I like the looks of both of them. I've read about the mk22 light hammer and how to fix it. When I was looking I came across the gsg15.

Anyone have experience with both? What would you buy?

Thanks you

As I understand it they're the same thing, made by the same people. My ISSC MK22 had light strikes in the beginning, but the issue went away before I had a chance to "fix" it. Maybe the robust firing pin return spring just needs a few hundred rounds to get worked in? Not sure. But it is the most fun rimfire rifle I own, super accurate and consistent. I've used several types of ammo, from golden bullet to eley & it Digests everything. One mag makes 1 ragged hole at 30 yards. Except golden bullet which was the last brand I tested after about 4 hours of trigger time, and even that made rabbit killing groups. Hope this helps.

I just bought the GSG15 a couple of weeks ago and I really like it. I've fired about 600 rds of CCI mini mags and its been running awesome. Accuracy is also pretty good.

Thanks when googling them people seems to have issues with the mk22 but not much posted on the gsg15. I am
Finding it hard to find a gsg15 in black all the online that I have seen say back ordered

Thunder bolts is dirty ammo, most my gsg call for HV ammo, whats he doing with thunderbolts? Mines fine, those after market spring pins that replace the flats screws are a must. Shoulda come with them. I picked up gsg dot, they are a good little dot sight. If anyone else has that dot sight, whats the wierd coin for that comes with it for?

I have shot a few hundreds of rounds of various ammo brands through mine (GSG15) with no problems except one failure to feed in the first magazine I put through it but that was rimlock. My fault before I got the hang of how to load the mags.

The MK22 stock tends to break easily from what I've read. I've been running the GSG hard since December with no issues other than learning to stay the hell away from Remington .22lr ammunition. I truly believe the reviewer in the video above got a lemon and/or was using bad ammo, if he had a chance to fire mine I'd expect it'd be to a different tune. They come with a lifetime warranty also so there's that.

Does anyone know where I can get a black gsg15 in Toronto mist website says sold out and cables has a tan/ black only in stock.

I think I'll picked up the gsg15

Just get one from Wolverine. They have them in stock here: ht tps://www.wolverinesupplies.com/ProductDetail/GSGR04GSG15_-GSG-15-Standard--22-LR-Rifle-16-5--Barrel---Black--

Aside from the furniture they are the same gun. Stocks on the gsg look nicer but I've never handled one.

I have a GSG 15 and so far I am 50/50 on the rifle
First the problems
1. the included Iron Sights are horrible, totally not adjusted out of the box and well they plastic and cheap feeling (almost mandatory to replace them)
2. Jams with Remington Thunderbolt, and Federal Standard Velocity
3. Trigger reminds me of that toy gun you had when you were twelve
4. Requires additional $12-$40 part to plug in a blank hole bracket for a rear stock sling attachment, really? I need to buy another part to mount a sling on my rifle... petty

The Good
1. Comes with rails galore but ensure your rings have wide bases to fit the top rail.
2. Feels nice to handle, adjustable cheek pieces and buttstock had me chose this over the MK22, controls are all easy to reach for me with my thumbs while still holding the rifle securely (I am 5'ft10 for reference)
3. Runs perfect with CCI AR ammo.
4. 22 rounds are enough to load on a sunday and shoot all week
5. extra mags ++ get 2 extras. (should be enough for most pesky squirrels)
6. Ambidextrous controls, assemble the rifle for you essentially except lefties still eat brass.

Still out
- Fired total 52 rounds (8 Thunderbolts till it jammed a shell in the receiver such that I needed a rifle rod to remove, then 44rds CCI AR no jams cycled perfect
- Included iron sights were terrible such that my rounds went all over the place
- I have a red dot and a 1.5-6x scope and 5 sets of rings but thru all combinations they mutually are either to short, narrow or wide to work for anything, so still more Rings shopping to do before I get this pony chomping at the bit (not the rifles fault, but I do blame it deepdown)
- Takedown kit for easier breakdown sold for about $90 also almost essential as once you break it down and clean the rifle once you see how easy over time it will be to strip the original receiver attachment screws (I want to test it more before spending the extra cash)

*All told if I could so far I'd take my money back and get a CZ-22 bolt instead, But I own it now all I can do is mess with it to get it running well with some form of optic to see if it shoots strait. Hopefully after a couple more range trips I can start saying nice thing about this rifle and right now I'm pretty mixed on my first "black rifle"

I agree stock sights aren't the best, I tried a red dot for awhile but that left more to be desired as you can't do precision with any true distance. I've now paired mine up with a Bushnell AR .22 2-7 scope and am finally happy with the optic choice. The takedown kit is only $20 unless you know of some more advanced kit that I don't. The trigger definitely has some travel before it engages but I find it to break and reset alright, I'm still able to be quite accurate with it although if an upgrade was available I'd probably consider it. One feature that'd be quite nice in a future model is a bolt release paddle like an AR. All being said this is currently my favourite semi automatic .22

My Mk22 has had an easy 1000 rounds through it in the last couple months... only have feeding issues if I stuff a couple extra rounds in the mag.

Other than that it's been eating everything I run through it that's HV.
