GSG 16 issues? Dead trigger and mag coming apart?

Hi all,

I have a GSG 16 and I have taken it out a couple of times. However, I notice that sometimes when im shooting (the drum mag and stick mags) that it will eject the round but the next shot has a dead trigger. It will usually work for one more shot then same thing (live round in chamber and dead trigger. Not sure if connected, but the mags also seem to be coming apart at the rear seam. Has anyone had any problems with this? Im not much of a gun smith at all but I would suspect a weak firing pin or something spring related?

I’m not sure but maybe trigger reset issue? Low powered ammunition???

For the mags splitting ... are you loading them up to the full 24 rounds? They fit 24 rounds but are supposed to hold 22, as advertised. Supposedly, repeatedly loading a full 24 rounds can cause the mags to separate over time, so I’ve heard. FWIW, I load mine to 24, and they’ve been fine.

ah thats a good point about the ammo! Ive been using the cabelas store bought stuff and i think some federal stuff. Both were 36 grain i believe. Ill keep an eye out for the mag thing I have been using them as tight as they go and store them with rounds in the mags. A little crazy glue should fix that problem. Ill see if i have the same reliability issues with CCI
