GSG 16 vs GSG Mp40-22 Are the Magazine feed lips the same?

As title states are the feeds for the GSG16 and GSG Mp40-22 the same?

I want to use a Mp40-22 magazine to make a steel covered Airsoft MP5 straight mag for my GSG 16.

The mag retention doesn't matter as I'll be using the mag retention from the airsoft steel mag housing.

Just looked at some high res photos online, wont work as the mag goes vertical from the feed lips on the MP40 while angled on the GSG16
