People who own gsg 16 tend to find themselves furniture the gun with airsoft parts. But has anyone tried to put like a metal lower receiver or upper receiver on theirs?

Hero outdoors just got a shipment of metal mp5 parts like receivers from ICS.

Wondering even if it fits what is the benefit over the OEM plastic or the 5/522 plastic lower.
Some have reported the OEM upper becoming loose when the threads start stripping out if the screws are overtightened. I would see a metal upper stopping that if they used machine screws to hold it together.
Also the metal upper looks like it would negate the need to fabricate a pic rail removed top cover.
I'm thinking if you ask a Mod to merge this into the GSG Mod thread you will get more responses.

Sky52 put a Airsoft Trigger housing on his. Receiver I think would run into complications, due to it being the serialized part. It might turn it into a variant and make it a prohib.
The serialized part is on the magwell, which in the mp5 is part of the "upper". Cant do it, otherwise you have a ghost gun. Plus the internal wont work, trust me i looked.
As for the lower, it may work but it will take a forever eternal to fit as the airsoft ssfety selector hole is serious undersized and also the grip screw hole is in the wrong place.
