Gsg 16

How are the drum mags? My GSG 15 is great for having fun. Not a single hiccup in 600-700 rounds. Although they look pretty cool with a 9” barrel and lots of airsoft parts, if the drum mags are only so-so then I don’t know if it’s worth changing.

Only fired 100 rounds of thunderbolt through mine with no issues but some have been reporting hiccups

The gun is great! I have a Dlask with GSG 5 conversion Kit and a few airsoft parts. Makes it feel much better and adds just the right amount of weight. It is very accurate shooting 4 inch steel, And a 3 inch dueling tree at 70ish yards.

As for the drum mag... I found it annoying and slow to load and overall not that great. Higher failure rate and it made the rifle a bit unweildy due to the extra weight and forward bulk. Not worth it in my opinion better off getting a couple extra stick mags.

I have one as well. Shoots everything I've put into it with zero issues. So far I've only run cheap .22 in it. Cool little rifle. Fun stuff.

I went and got a GSG-16, SFRC had a 15% off sale and free shipping, bought the FDE version. Thanks folks for the input, and thanks SFRC for the sale.

Took advantage of the SFRC 15% off, shipped to my door for $480, can’t go wrong. Been wanting one since they came out. Very fun rifle, just need to find a gsg 522 cocking tube or the conversion kit...

My son has a GSG STG44, it is a heavy beast, once you learn how to load the mags, it's fine. Same with my GSG16, it eats everything I load into it. Had a bag of mixed crap .22 I have saved over the years and the stick mags and drum work great, just make sure of the angle of the round when loading.

Friggin loud with the short barrel, but the GSG16 is the fav with all my kids and friends when we are shooting spinners.

You will love this gun, I replaced a bunch of plastic with metal and other parts, but don't know if it was worth it.

Nice...where did you get the foreend?

The rifle definitively feels alot less cheap with the conversion kit parts on, moar metal, heavier, etc.

The HK takedown pins that are tighter also help alot! :)

Also, yeah, those basic open sights on the gun are crapola. If only it had something closer to the HK offererings!

On a semi unrelated note, I might sell off my 522 metal cocking tube (2nd pic), and some parts from the conversion kit I didn't use (including the grip..), and a rear HKish metal drum sight.

Not sure if I'll do the whole lot deal, or particular parts... mmm

Here's mine I got this week from SFRC, making her first range trip tomorrow..I'm very much looking forward to it. Don't think I'll be modding it except maybe changing out the tri-rail for end.
