GSG 1911 22 Cal jamming Problems

My GSG 1911 does not like Winchester (333 bulk or Wildcat). It causes stovepipes, and failure to load the second round (but I think that is more of a magazine issue). The range guns didn't think much of the Winchester either for that matter. A lot of no-fires. I'm staying away from Winchester from now on.
My GSG does like Remington Thunderbolt 40g round nose, no issues at all yet. Others have claimed this ammo is "dirty" but I haven't really had any issues with it.
Those are the only two types I've tried as yet.

Mine loves CCI Bulk blazer, CCI Stingers, CCI Mini Mag. Deals fine with Wildcat. Absolutely HATES Winchester super X.
I have a box of bulk federal that I opened ran a few mags through and seems to work fine.
If its a brand new gun pick up a few boxes of higher velocity stuff like CCI Mini Mags and it through it. Afterwards it should be a little less picky. Avoid subsonic ammo.

Mine didn't like anything but CCI Mini Mags, at first. After putting a couple hundred rounds of those through it, and polishing the slide rails, it will now chew through the Wildcats that usually resulted in stove pipes before.
Biggest culprit is probably due to slide resistance. There is a few lesser possibilities (broken extractor/magazine/Weak hammer) but 99% of the time you are just getting excess rubbing.
1) Polish the rails - Give the slide a few hundred pulls while watching TV in an attempt to rub all the contacting surfaces down. Heard of people using an abrasive lubricant (fritz?) that really sped the process up but I prefer to err on the side of caution.
After doing that I noticed improved reliability with cheaper ammunition and flawless performance with CCI Minimag 40gr.
2) Lighter recoil spring - Mine was a bit stiff so I replaced it and the guide rod with a ZRTS kit from Blue Line. (Spring seems to do the trick.. just liked the look of the full rod haha)
After doing both, I noticed nearly 100% reliability with ALMOST** everything I have fed it. The only thing I need to do now is make sure the gun is properly lubed.

A little emery cloth to take the paint off the slide rails and it will cycle almost anything. Mine works great with federal bulk when I can get ahold of it. CCI mini mags work well as well.
Do you have a little oil on the rails? Or did you use some sort of grease? A little oil is OK. And so is some grease as long as it's the thinnest of smears. Too much and it'll slow things down.
Other than that since you've shot it somewhat already field strip it and clean out the action. It might be dragging due to the internals being gritty. In particular the face of the hammer and the sliding surface on the lower rear of the slide where the hammer rubs needs to be clean and LIGHTLY oiled or greased. Along with the slide rails this is the other spot where there is some fairly heavy rubbing during a cycle.
If you really MUST sand the rails get some 600 grit wetordry paper from an automotive paint place and use it folded around a small block or something like a little popsicle stick so it's supported and sits flat on the rails. And a little sanding goes a long way. Don't feel like you need to take the paint all off. It only needs a couple of thou removed to loosen up.
The safest bet would be to field strip it and then only put back the slide and slide lock pin. No spring or barrel. Then oil the rails and that lower rub track for the hammer. Then cycle it a lot while watching TV. That'll wear in any high spots and polish the contact points. And it'll do so only where it needs it and not overall and make the fit sloppy.

Only ammo, that has misfed (four times) in my wife's GSG has been bulk CCI MiniMags, the stuff with the gator shooter logo. Federal HV 36 gr feeds reliably.

the recommended round is the cci stinger , mine uses anything with speeds above 1400 ft/sc
All I did with mine is shoot several hundred mini mags through it right out of the box and checked the slide and used some fine sandpaper on any of the paint. I tried Frog lube and it worked alright, but found that using oil on the slides and everywhere else it shoots everything that I have tried. It was easier to clean with the Froglube but lots of oil works the best on the one I have.
Lost count of rounds through it but has to be well over the 10,000 and have done nothing to it.
Broke mine in with 500 stingers (broke 1 guide rod and blew apart cone *lol*) , then 500 CCI Mini-mags (broke second guide rod, goddarn plastic!)..... now it shoots everything I've thrown into her - Federal blue box, winchester white box, thunderbolts, bucket-o-bullets whatever round that is, and more I can't recall.
Its kinda like sanding off the paint finish on the inside of the slide where meets body, but much more fun!
Oh! And you will most likely break your guide rod and/or blow your nose cone downrange... I invested in the ZRTS deluxe enhancement kit from blueline.......

Was this one of the first GSG ones? How well is that deluxe kit working out? I assume it is the one that let's you remove the barrel screw? I am a little concerned with the aluminum alignment cone.
I have put at least a 1000 stingers through mine and no issues. I bought it about a year ago.
Broke mine in with mini-mags, then after polishing the feed ramp...fed bulk all the way... Been almost flawless just a couple of fte..
And I mean a couple.. here's mine.. polished the slide when it began to show wear...

The ZTRS kit is awesome, really worth the 70 bucks, hated that barrel screw,
The new recoil spring got everything feeding smooth,
Mine loves the remington gold ones, federal 510 and the only thing it hates is the american eagle.
but even with the oldest american eagle crap I have, it was only a stopage every 10 rounds,
Like its been said, just sliding it back a few hundred times helps, and consider polishing the ramp, and think about investing in the zrts kit. I found it really helped tighten my groups, and i hated that barrel screw crap.
