I shot another gsg 22 before I bought my own and I loved it. Didn't have any issues with it with the same ammo I'm putting through my new one.

I bought the new one from Wolverine with an extra mag. I was excited to take it out along with a couple others I'd bought as I just got my LTATT.

Loaded the mag, dropped the slide, fired the first shot, pull the trigger again and CLICK. After holding a bit and uttering some expletives I pull the slide back and see there was nothing in the chamber. Pull the slide back and chamber another round and empty the mag.

It did this multiple times and it always did it on the second shot.

Is this a "break in" issue or should I send it back?

This is not a wolverine slam. Even though it was my first purchase from them they were great to deal with and sent me my order fast.

One of my mags does the same thing. Have you taken the mag apart? I haven't shot mine for a while but if I recall, make sure the mag spring is in correctly, even if straight from the factory.

I just bought a new gsg 1911-22. After running about 6 brands through it I found that cci mini mag and AR tactical run perfect in it. Cci blazer runs awful with FTF, FTE and fail to lock on last shot fairly common. Remington HV runs pretty good with some FTF. I have about 500 rounds through it now and it's still acting the same with the ammo above.

I've got one with less than 100 rounds through it. It has the same problem although it fails randomly. At least yours is consistent.
I hope it is just a break in issue...
Let me know if yours improves.

Mine did this as well, biggest cause I found is the coating on the slide and frame cause to much friction. Take it a part and give both the slide and frame a polish and take the coating off where they meet each other. Heard lots of people talk about this and that seems to be the best fix!

funny thing is I loaded both mags in a newbie attempt at a quick change and the second rnd failed to chamber on the first mag but after the following nine rounds I dropped the mag, loaded the new one, hit the slide release and dumped the next ten rounds no prob. That led me to believe that one mag was messed but then I tried both mags with a time gap in between and the second round failed on both mags

no, the other ammo I have is cheaper than the one I was shooting. The one I was shooting is a touch "hotter" than the other stuff I have so it should have cycled just as good if no better than my other available option.

Mine took some work to run good. I installed the Enhanced kit from Blue Line which includes a full length guide rod and a larger diameter recoil spring. I polished the chamber and the feed ramp, and removed most of the paint where the slide and frame contact. And i treat the gun to frog Lube. Last time to the range I fired the first 300 rounds with no issues and then had two FTF with the next 100, maybe from getting dirty. This was with cheap bulk Federal 525 Blue Box.
An easy way to clean up the excess paint on the slide to frame is to put polish on the contact points and hand cycle the guy for 10 minutes and then give it a good cleaning. Before doing this I was getting about a 10% FTF rate.

Hm, mine ran from the get go with no polishing, but i did run it wet. It eats a steady diet of remington target velocity ammo with no issues. I get occasional FTF, but no more then with any other rimfire pistol. Sounds like the mags aren't always seating right up. Just a question, do you have the slide open or closed when inserting the mag? just wondering if the top round is not lifting in time to engage the breech face, or if burrs on the mags are holding it down.

Another thing you could try would be to load 9 and see if it does the same thing.

Don't get too stressed yet, they do like a break in, and they like to run wet.

Remove the factory grease that came with the gun. Use gun oil, CCI Minimag for a few hundred rounds. Must be ammo related and break-in. Also, make sure you are not touching any part of the slide stop.

It needs a break in of around 500 rounds with HV before being closer to 100% reliable. Also clean and lube frequently if you haven't. Majority of failures are user error or ammo related with rimfires.....improper cleaning and lubing, or just the nature of cheap rimfire ammo.

Broke mine with minimags then fed bulk all the way....no problems..check the mag springs and polish the feed ramp.....

I know how you feel. my new Mark III wouldn't even chamber a round.

it's at the smith for a look-over as the next time I took it out to take a look, the bolt was jammed forward in an almost closed position. rather frustrated, to say the least. <_<
