Hi all - I've just brought my son a GSG .22 as he was struggling a bit with my 9mm....

We've been recommended to use either CCI Stinger or Velocitor ammo.

Can any owners of this gun recommend other ammo?

Thanks.

Stuart.

After about a 200rd. break-in period, mine will shoot most of the bulk ammo well.

Thanks all, we were also told to break in with a few hundred rounds of 'quality' ammo and then try some others, he's stuck 300 rounds down it in 24 hours, we'l finish off the remaining 200 rounds of stinger and then try the 'cheap' stuff.

So nothing to avoid?

Thanks.

Congrats on the purchase!..... Mine shot mini-mags for 300, polished the feed ramp, now shoots anything i put in it..... Mostly fed bulk..enjoy....
Import

I only shoot plated ammo in my .22's and had good luck with Winchester 333/555 and Federal 525 pack ammo. It also loves the Winchester anniversary ammo (40gr plated).

Mine loves CCI Minimags. It shoots blazers for 100 rounds then the non coated lead bullet seems to foul up the rifling too much and groups go to h*ll. So I give it a steady diet of Minimags and no issues at all. Great fun gun to shoot and practice with. My wife started using mine now as a beginner handgun. Great choice for your son. It will give him confidence with less chance to develop a flinch that will ruin shooting for him. Good luck!!:)

No problem with Fed 525 Bulk, Winchester Anniversary Ammo (brick), CCI Blazer and loves CCI Minimag.

That's exactly what was happening, he was flinching with the anticipation of the bang and recoil of the 9mm and never hitting the target, he loves the GSG and is doing really well with it, showed no interest in shooting the M&P today!!
