GSG 1911 .22LR or S&W M&P22

I have both, m&p feels better in hand, i would buy the gsg anytime in a heartbeat!
As far as warranty my m&p has been at S&W for 15 months+ to get repaired so that would factor in my buying choice.

I own both.
Like them both.
Had to keep one...GSG.

Better trigger, all metal, more mods, cheaper parts.

Might be just me, I can shoot hole through hole at 15m with GSG.......M&P, no.

Just got my gsg but so far I love it been great for transitioning to my .45 1911's my only issue is the sights suck but dlask has better ones for sale.

What was the fix?

Just swap out the OEM follower for one of these.

So not enough spring pressure?

The inserts to convert to using a standard 9mm mag apparently work very well but that route costs considerably more $$ once you factor in the cost of the insert & the 9mm mag.

I love the feel and the look of the P226 and the potential to convert it to a 9mm later. But I heard the Sig is VERY picky about the ammo. Is that true? Another problem is (same with the Glock and Beretta conversion kits), the conversion slider is always 'out of stock'.

My P226 22lr classic seems to work very well with any decent ammo, I currently use CCI's with no issues.

I have a Ruger mark III 22/45 target. Accurate, reliable, fun, grip angle same as 1911.

I have learned over time that reliable and accurate is directly related to enjoyment of shooting.

I have a couple of Ruger MkIII 22/45's. And a GSG 1911 .22 lr. Like 'em all.

Personally, I'd take the GSG over the S&W M&P.

NAA.

I've owned a few .22lr HG's over the years. From S&W 41's, couple MK3's(22/45, Target), Sig1911-22, DA & SA revolvers and conversion kits.
Had I picked up a Ruger Standard from the start I would have saved a lot of time (but it was fun).
MK3 4.75"bbl Standard…..Ruger's Iconic firearm made to last and proven.

I know the Ruger is overall a better training gun to start with. I read a lots of articles about this gun and people love the performance of this firearm. The only thing is this is my first handgun, and I think you guys probably all went through this, you want your first handgun to be ###y. Not that the Ruger MarkIII isn't a good looking gun, it is...it's just not what I had in mind.

Yeah...you can say it...the Ruger is one ugly gun. But it's a great gun.

I've got a gsg 1911 and I love it. 100% reliability so far using cci mini mags. I did have one mag that wouldn't feed properly but sanding the follower to tilt the bullet up more fixed the problem. M-22 ammo seems to work well too.

Funny...I was at he range today with my mate and his mom, visiting from Europe, and for the first time, I missed my gsg...I'm gonna have to get another....
