GSG 1911 .22LR pistols any good ??

Just broke the firing pin on mine for the second time. Blue line....expect a call Tuesday :) Wasn't even shooting it. I was putting it back together at home and cycled it and a piece of the firing pin came out in my hand.

Mine has around 12000 to 14000 rnds through it. It's about 2 1/2 years old. I had a long thread on the nightmare it was, but in fairness, I chose to fix/modify/hammer/grind/beat the thing myself instead of doing a proper warranty repair.

Mine is very finicky about which lube, at which time of year, (very little, but an exact amount) and it chokes on the really cheap ammo. It doesn't like the mid price ammo much either, and I refuse to pay for good 22 ammo. It's good for teaching people how to manage a malfunction :)

So there's the other side, BUT I still recommend them because there are thousands out there that run flawlessly, and even mine with all it's problems was as good as a friend's sig mosquito :):)

I love mine. Over 100 rounds and no issues, with multiple ammo brands. Pistol has a solid feel and is accurate. Finish does pick up some nicks rather easy. But hey, it looks mean and it is meant to be used!

I have the Sig 1911-22 version. Bought on sale for roughly the same price of a GSG. I prefer the cosmetics of the Sig.
I broke mine in with 100 rounds of Mini mags and it now runs very nicely on cheap Win555's. It's seen about 3 bricks now.
The finish on the slide wears easy but the frame is holding up fine. The sights are cheap plastic but do the job.
I haven't replaced any parts yet but did remove the mag safety. Makes function tests/take-down easier. Some say this smooths out the trigger but I can't see how.
Mags are well made steel and easily available for around $25. These are fun 1911-22 plinkers.

Mines a blast! consistently eats thunderbolts and superX HV mine will not cycle 555 at all (have to manually rack each round) and blazers are iffy.

i need a better picture grips are a darker green than they appear

I am able to plink a 6" round steel target @ 25 yards & hit it dam near every time but on paper it looks like its all over the place. I am going to start working on accuracy, maybe it's me...

I purchased the SIG version and it has been a great gun for me. My brother enjoyed it so much tha we bought a GSG so that we can both enjoy cheap fun at the range. I've detail stripped both guns and the SIG has been put together with more attention to detail and the slide/frame finish match better than on the GSG. The GSG was purchased fro $200 less than the SIG so some differences can easily be forgiven.

Also a big fan of the Sig/GSG. It's the reason I'm a better pistol shooter, bottom line.

FYI: Keep the mags clean. They get dirty fast and I find that leads to 2nd round feed issues. I keep q-tips in my bag just for this purpose.

With all these GSG 1911 fans, we should have our own national jamboree. :D

I agree 100%

Best value for your money. Best fun factor. Might not be as overall accurate as a Ruger MkIII or a Browning Buckmark, makes up as a good training pistol if you are planning to move into a 1911 platform. I have a 2nd gen of the GSG 1911. Not much issues except for the cast zinc/aluminum guide rod. Another thing to watch is the peeing on the notch for the slide stop. No worries, BLUELINE has done what is perceived unbelievable in supporting owners of this fantastic pistol! Again, not the best in the market, but expect the best in after-sales support and tons of upgrade parts being a 1911 platform.
