Just a quick note...

My new GSG wasn't eating the Winchester 555's very well. 90% were FTF or FTE or stovepipes. So, I bought a box of Remington Yellow Jackets at 1400fps, a box of CCI Stingers at 1640fps and a bulk box of Federal (blue box) and headed to the range. I started with the Fed's to warm things up and I found that even after cleaning thoroughly, some sanding and filing I was starting to feel the gun stiffen up. I pulled the slide and had a look at things. While pulling the slide, it felt kinda sticky like it was dragging on something. I found nothing out of the ordinary, so a little gun oil on the slide rails and back to work.

I had only a couple FTF before the oil, and only 1 stovepipe afterwards. I felt it was chewing through the Fed's ok, so I tried the Remingtons. At first mag load, I was not impressed. The bullets are an odd shape, being conical not cylindrical. This means that they did not sit in the mag well. My first round did not feed as it was "stuck" in the mag. After finessing it into the chamber, the second round fed almost straight up and into the rim of the chamber, denting the bullet. I did not use the second mag.

Instead, I loaded the CCI's. They sat perfect in the mags and fed really well. The shells are stainless, not brass. The bullets are smooth and a little shorter than regular, as the shells are a little longer than a standard .22LR. I let fly the first round and I was impressed. I could feel the slide come back to full open and back again to full close with Gusto. The snap and report of the shot was noticeably crisper and more commanding. I went through 2 mags of the CCI then back to the Fed's just to keep putting bullets down range.

Even after the CCI's, my little GSG was eating the Fed's like they were Pez. So far, I've only got maybe 500 rounds through it. I'm going to keep at the Fed's until they are gone. Then I'll move on to the bulk Winchester Dyna Points and keep going.

So in conclusion, my GSG 1911 LOVES the CCI Stingers, hates the Remington Yellow Jackets, chews through Federal 525 bulk, and loathes Winchester 555 bulk. All I need to do now is find the Stingers in bulk for cheap.

I've put about 2000 rounds thru mine and at this point it eats anything I throw at it. It was pretty picky up until about 1200 rounds but I finally got sick of the Winchester and remington not feeding properly and bought 500 stingers and after running those thru it I don't have anymore FTFs. The finish on the gun isnt the greatest so I think thats what leads to a longer break in period. There are lots of videos on YouTube about how to speed up the break in process with some fine grit sandpaper or just buy a bunch of stingers and mini mags and shoot it instead. Way more fun than sanding.

Mine worked good on Federal 525's, excellent on Federal match, and surpizingly it also worked excellent with Remington subsonic, I got to say I am enjoying this pistol.
For some odd reason the slide did not usualy lock on empty with the Federal 525's but did with the other two types.

I've had nothing but problems with those funky-shaped Remington HV rounds in all of my semis. Rem subsonics, however, have been great.

Yeah...... Fed bulk all the way..... Broke in with minimags, then, after polishing the feed ramp, happy with almost anything, but fed bulk is my preference.....

Mine hated the stingers, got hung up on all the wax, I've never found semi auto that likes those damn yellow jackets, I feed them to my henry. For the most part my sig1911 loves the federal as well.

CCI Blazer seems to be the best ammo I've run through my GSG when I look at the performance and the cost. I just keep buying it and not experimenting with other types.

My GSG will eat anything so far.. Had a hard time with some winchester match grade box of 325. The first box was fine no real issues but the next time out and a second box of 325 I couldnt shoot a whole mag without multiple failures. It was as if there wasnt enough power to rack the slide, eject and chamber. Once i got home and cleaned my barrel I realized the whole barrel had a thin layer of lead build up. As I cleaned it I pulled out a tube of lead perfectly moulded to the barrel. I actually thought i pulled the lining of the barrel out. lol I'm new. No problems with any of the jacketed ammo tho.

CCI Blazer here. Not one issue. I had lots of mishaps with all the rest

Same. Blazer (the good CCI stuff, not the Federal) is the only thing that is 100% in my GSG. Federal blue box 525, CCI Velocitor, fake Blazer, American Eagle, CCI Standard Velocity work well but do have hiccups (1 out of every 20-40 rounds).

Love the (real) Blazer.

Mine chokes on Winchester and Remington and shoots Stingers reasonably well. Have to look into Federal bulk. Really hoping to find ammo where I can get consistent performance.

Blazers here as well.

funny story.
i went to the local hardware store and was gonna pick up a brick of Blazers.
well actually i was gonna pick up a couple boxes but the kid at the gun counter had just opened up a crate and i figured what the hell, its only like 20-30 bucks for a whole brick.
took it to the check out girl and she scanned in the box of 500 and told me my grand total was $2.58
i look at her, asked her to scan it again, so she did.
$2.58
i tell her thats the wrong price.
she asked if i was really gonna haggle over a couple of cents.
i guess she figured i thought i was overpaying.
so i told her she was of course correct and it was silly of me to complain.
interact -> bag -> range for the afternoon.

8000+ through mine now and it likes the federal bulk pack 525's it is ok with the winchester dynapoints but the federal 525 bulk are best

wish i could get mine for $2.58 nice score
you should have turned around and gone for the rest of the crate
