Has anyone installed a ZRTS Cone on the end of their barrel? Any thoughts picking the stainless cone versus the anodized black cone?
The reason I ask I am currently in the US and I am considering either ordering a ZRTS Cone or a CW Performance kit while I'm here. Neither ships to Canada so I want to get something while I'm here. It's a tough call on which to order.

1911 22 mod.

Hi IRC...I'm very new at this.. I would really like to communicate on a more personal bases, with you.. I don't want to break any rules, this site may have, buy I want to modify my 1911 22 in the same manner you have done yours.. How do we communicate? Can we communicate privatly? Barry

2nd range trip today,

Determined the extra mag I bought has a problem it does not feed right and it will not eject freely with the action locked open. My dad has a gsg as well so I tried all three of his mags they worked fine and dropped freely on lock up... I believe most of my feed problems are my mag.

Also I am getting a lot of non struck rounds and have to manually cycle and shake out the round. It may be my grip as my thumb is close to the safety fingers are crossed I will pay close attention where my hands are next time but if things keep going the way they are I might have a safe queen.

Shot stingers, blazers, and mini mags

I received your email this weekend. I will arrange with my staff this week to have a new magazine shipped out to you. Please let us know if it is your grip that is causing the light strikes or I will have a new firing pin spring sent out with your replacement magazine.

Cheers,
Ryan Patterson

Barry, Sorry I have been away from the computer for a couple of Days. I was stuck in Halifax in the storm, took me three days to get back to Victoria. You can just send me a PM. Click on my name and select private message.

Cheers

When I made the cone for mine I chose to got with aluminium so there was less chance of the cone causing wear in the slide.

I snuck up to the range on Sunday and shot a quick 110 rounds, 50 mini mags, 50 blazers and 10 stingers using only the good mag. I had one failure to feed where the round jammed up off the feeding ramp to the top of the chamber and once where the trigger pull brought the hammer to half ####.

I paid close attention to my grip for each of the 110 rounds so I am leaning towards it was something I was doing that prevented the firing pin from striking the brass as 108 of 110 is not bad and I think removing the bad mag helped with the results, I will keep a tally on the next trip see how it goes and leave the iffy mag at home.

I have the ZRTS drop in SAC + threaded adapter on mine along with their Guide rod package. I had issues with the drop in SAC not fitting initially and had to send it back to get it fitted. Was a pain but they were top notch about it and I would not hesitate to deal with them again.

Can't comment on the polished/anodized as my threaded adapter is flat black, but my guide rod is black anodized and looks good (I wanted an all black look).

Thanks Dangaa...appreciate your input. I contacted ZRTS and they told me the black anodized finish on the drop in cone will likely show wear after a few hundred rounds and the recommended I purchase the polished cone...they shipped same day so I should have it this week. I must say their customer service is excellent.
When I get home next month I will install it and see how it functions at the range.

Does anyone in Canada sell upgraded guide rods for the GSG 1911?
I've scanned most of the 9 pages here and unless I missed a post I can't see anything concerning Canadian dealers.
If not, does anyone know the legality of sending a guide rod from ZRTS through the mail. I have a friend in NY who could buy the guide rod from ZRTS...can he then just mail them to me?
Thanks

Thanks Hitzy...I've just placed my order with Gunnar...seems like a great guy. I'm afraid he'll end up 'relieving' me of some of my hard earned cash in the future ;-)

EDITED

Just got mine today, little disappointed about finish mismatch between slide and receiver but in all great gun!
Got mine with walnut grips ;)

I think that smell comes from the grease they use. It should go away after few cleanings. BTW which guiding rod did you get with yours? The steel, full rod or the alloy x shaped one?
Thanks

Went to the range again last Sunday, left the crappy mag at home ran 50 rounds of Winchester Super X HV, 50 rounds Winchester super speed rn, 50 rounds bulk blazer, 50 rounds of Winchester 555, 10 rounds Winchester dynapoint, 50 rounds of mini mags and 20 stingers.

Only had two failure to feed, 5 dynapoints & 2 stingers failed to fire but it was the ammo, and one stovepipe with a super speed rn.

All in all was a pretty good day at no point did I want to chuck it down range!

I am starting to see a little wear on the front chamber side of the slide and the plunger where it contacts the barrel bushing.
