GSG 1911 in .22lr ?

Loved mine enough to spend 400$ to pimp it out....
Really accurate with CCI Stingers. Did take 3000 rounds to break it back in once the Arma coat was applied.

Set the default in the Search to "and older" instead of "and newer" and look at all the older threads. There's been enough threads over the last year to keep you reading for an evening.
Short version? Buy one......
I don't have one but I've shot enough belonging to others. Even stock they are a darn nice gun and as reliable as any .22 can be. If I felt the need to get a 1911 style .22 it would be GSG hands down.

I believe most of the issues were with the first batch. Mine runs great even with Winchester 555 really anything high velocity. Was at the range today and working a dueling tree at 25 yards was making almost as many hits as my friends with the lever guns 'mind one them can't shoot super well'

I have the sig version, the only thing I'd recommend right out of the box is to polish the paint off the slide/ frame rails. Mine runs great, it's awesome, .22 calibre fun.
Mine must have been the first batch; the frame cracked, got rid of it.
I have the Sig version. IMO the plastic sights work but are very poor quality. I bought it for my son who really enjoys it for cheap plinking.
Mags are good quality steel and are easily found ~$25 each. The frame/barrel screw is awkward for field stripping but there are aftermarket parts to fix/eliminate this. Someone recently reported putting 100,000rnds thru his!

Love shooting mine..... has about 5000 rds thru it, most of them CCI stingers/cci mini-mags..... broken 2 guide rods, but BlueLine was quick to replace them for me.... I think I'm gonna spend a little money and get the ZRTS deluxe enhancement kit (BlueLine) and a set of nicer grips (still looking, open to suggestions). Its my go-to pistol when I wanna have a LOT of fun for a LITTLE bit of money!

The factory grips are a little cheap but really they are not that bad. The paint wears a bit on the slide.
I dont expect it to break but if it ever does the same day i will order a new one.
I have swapped out the main spring housing for a flat one more of a personal comfort thing.

If you don't mind me asking, what brand is your flat mainspring housing? Did it drop in or require some adjustments?
How do you know the first batch? Are they the one without the skeletonized hammer, and beaver tail?
I am looking at one without these features pictured above, it looks like a plain jane government model. Any thoughts? I don't want to buy it and have to spend a bunch to tune it and soup it up.

One guy posted up a while back that he had near 100k rounds through one before it finally up and quit for the last time. So ya they're durable.
Expect to replace the guide rod, barrel bushing, spring, and buffer every few years. Other than that it's a very solid gun and very well made for the price. It has a few tiny issues but nothing that would keep me from recommending it whole heatedly.
As far as accuracy mine is pretty good. How much better I can get it is a work in progress. It's definitely not the equal of my High Standard but for a 1911 style gun, out of the box it's been pretty impressive.
Either new or lightly used it's a great purchase.

"That guy" was yours truly, and actually although it did give up, its days are not over! Ryan at Blueline is as I type this, having his smith go over the gun and he's going to repair it!
