It looks like GSG has just released a variant of the GSG 1911. It says STAINLESS, but priced same as the rest. Can anybody confirm if the slide is indeed Stainless Steel (though not likely considering the pricing). Or a Steel Alloy that is rust resistant close to a Stainless Steel. Frame is Aluminum Alloy against a Stainless Steel Slide might not be a good idea. Unless this is hardened Anodized Aluminum, they might have found a way to solve the peening on the slide stop notch.

Probably same, just polished. I have seen other GSG's polished, and they look like that. Did some checking, but found nothing. Did find this GSG Optics Mount though.

Yeah, says stainless steel 'finish' that could be anything as long as it looks akin to stainless steel. I'll stick with my tan version. I also saw that they have a snow camo version that looks pretty good (also a pink one for those inclined).

Stainless steel is heavier than carbon if I understand correctly...

The GSG slides are some type of alloy because steel is too heavy to function properly with only a .22lr cycling the slide.

The idea that somehow a stainless slide would work is just silly and against all logic.
