GSG 22lr with the new stainless slide

I'm thinking about picking one of these up. I've heard nothing but great things about the GSG except the slid stop wears out at 10k+ rounds.

I'm assuming the stainless slide was put on to aliviate this known issue. The problem is I cannot find any reviews of the GSG with a stainless slide. (My Google-fu is pretty solid)

Any one have any experience with the new slide or can point me to someone that has?

I highly doubt it is actually SS but rather a color variation of the alloy slide. They come in black, pink, snow cammo and other variations.

I'd bet that its a pot metal slide, finished to look like stainless. For a $400.00 gun, you can't beat them. sometimes they can be a little fussy until they are broken in, and you find the right ammo that it likes. But overall a nice shooter.

My wife has one, only about 1000 down the pipe but still looking good. Some ftf and fte in the first 100 but works fine now. Does not like super cheap ammo but runs like a champ on federal automatch

If it had a better quality slide I would have given it a try...maybe when that happens
