So I just went on the Dlask arms website and found a link to this new importer called blue line activities and they are trying to import the GSG-5 .22lr but the RCMP classified it as prohibited because they say its an mp5 varient but they only did it cause at the SHOT show when they visited the booth they guys only had a non working model so they RCMP gave that status strictly on appearance rather that the obvious fact that it is in no way similar inside as an mp5 9mm so they are trying to appeal the decision and get it reclassified as non restricted or restricted.
So here is my question obviously 25/30 round mags are legal and arent a reason to restrict it so the only other reason I can think of would be the barrel length and it can be anywhere from 9.1" to 16.3" so does the barrel length laws affect .22lr or is there some kind of exemption cause its a 22.
