Just wondering if anyone here had the grip safety on their GSG 1911 tactical 22LR pinned? I'm looking to do this or get it done as the grip safety is a little temper metal when I use a high ride grip. That and its also causing jams or malfunctions when my son uses it because of his small hands.

I am going to be doing mine soon. If find the GSG grip safety hard to push in.

One way that I read about is as follows.
Drill a small hole in the top of the mainspring housing where it butts up to the bottom of the grip safety. Drill another hole in the bottom of the grip safety lined up with the M/S hole when the grip safety is in.
Size the holes & make them just long enough for a metal rod(pin) to go in both.
When the M/S housing is put back in, the pin in it will go into the matching hole in the bottom of the grip safety & hold it in.

There are other ways but this way is reversible.

I just used a dremal to grind off some of the top of the grip safety itself. Just enough so that it will not engage.

Well I finally got around to getting the grip safety pinned. Colin I used your method of a roll pin between the main spring housing and the grip safety. Not alot of room to drill there and the pin is no longer straight but it does hold firm. I've had it to the range already and really like this pistol now. Can't wait for the little guy to try it.

Hopefully I'll be able to take a few pictures soon. Just to sow the tight situation.
