Ok here it is.
First batch had a steel guide rod cast barrel bushing so the barrel bushing broke. They replaced the barrel bushing with a steel one. They sent out replacements to who ever needed one ect just put a magnet to it to see If it's steel or not. Then the rubber washers were wearing out and would disappear with solvent. They replaced it with a polymer one. Then they went to a cast guide rod and the cross went right to the big round part so they started breaking. They fixed that with making it round at the end point instead of a X pattern. Then they had problems with people not putting the gun back together right wrong way spring caused the slide to lock up pain to take apart after that. The guide rod would be miss alianed and it would break so they put a ramp on the barrel to prevent that.
So it works well chews through a bunch of ammo. Looks cooler then a Ruger MK II but the Ruger is all steel and a much better quality firearm. The GSG is cast aluium some people call it pot steel they have had a couple of fireing pins break and it seemed everyone that did break the person disabled the magazine safety so they aren't designed to be dry fired.
Is it worth the money depends you can put lots of rounds through it and have no problems or you can have some problems and it breaks. Allot of the problems were user side related as they put it back together wrong and it bound up the guide rod and broke. The reason they stopped making the steel guide rod is because it broke the slide in a few of them if you put it back together wrong. Some people ruined the finish on them by not putting the slide stop all the way in so it wore down the side once again human error. It's a firearm that works just fine if you put it together right but you can make a mistake doing it easy and something will wear or break because of it. The ruger mK 2 are known for being a pain to take apart because you have to flip it upside down to put it back together. Also were the slide stop engages the pistol it will round out over time because its soft metal but it still works so its more cosmetic then anything it's not something you can fix over time. If I had to pick only 1 22 lr pistol it wouldn't be a GSG it would be a ruger MK 2 or 3 or a browning buckmark. They're much better but I hate the look of them and how the magazine feeds into them.
