GSG Safety

The short answer is yes, but safeties are one of those parts that usually require a bit of hand fitting to match it up with the individual gun. You could see if any of the dealers in Calgary have anything, but I kind of doubt that you will find what you want. Brownells will probably be your best bet.

dammit...

Brownells is actually surprisingly easy to order from. But if you'd rather go through a local dealer, find what you like on Brownells website and write the part name a number down. Stephan(the gunsmith at TSE) can order it in with his next Brownells order.

he is in Europe for two weeks lol

So, what happened to the one that it came with?

Broke first time I took it out, the little notch on the right side broke off. Looks incredibly cheap, like a metal toy soldier material... And now after I put it back together it will not ####, meaning something is probably going on with the spring...any help would be greatly appreciated...:( Apparently this has happened to many others according to google.

Have you fixed the cocking problem? I saw your other thread on it. Broken ambi safety has nothing to do with cocking. Mine broke when I replaced grips, not realizing that the right grip restricts movement of the right safety. Well, its no longer ambi which is fine by me. :D

As others have indicated in your other thread, it doesn't #### because the sear spring is in a wrong place. I had to watch the AGI 1911 video very carefully before I saw what I did wrong... ;)

Yea it was the spring, its fixed now. That safety is pretty cheap metal eh?

Mine broke almost right away as well.
Dlask fixed it no problem, and showed it to me.
It is a tiny tab that joins both sides together, and wouldn't take much at all to snap.

On the original grips there is a cutaway to clear the spur that goes under the grip. I wound up relieving the nice wood grips before installing them. Wasn't hard.

The part should be re-engineered using steel, not pot metal. I was surprised how crappy it was, coming from Germany.
Even China!

Let's be honest people. The gun is 379.00. I'm sure if they converted everything to steel you could kiss that price tag good bye.

Can't really beat the gsg for the price and quality. You could always buy a 1000 dollar complete kimber 22.

just the way too easy to break right side safety.
Chill.
LOL I agree. I doubt anyone can take that safety apart more than twice without braking it. But the price tag somehow makes it OK to mess with this gun. For me, its pure learning without spending major $$. I wouldn't do it to a $1000+ 1911.

Very true. When i got mine i had to take it completly apart, you know just cause.
Other than the safety it is a well built and solid gun. No complaints.
Seems to be very accurate and i have yet to fine tune the red dot on mine.(still trying various ammo).:D
