Picked up my first pistol today, a sig 1911/ .22. OD green with 2 mags and a holster, good deal from a non supporting dealer.

Stamped right on the slide is .22 hv only. Question; does anyone run the blue pack federal bulk through this gun? It's labelled as high velocity at 1260 fps and it's what I shoot in my .22 rifles. Any good? I also grabbed some cci mini mags (same velocity as the federal) and some stingers ( 1600 ish fps), but damn are those hard to find even in Winnipeg.

Anybody's gsg/ sig have a favorite ammo?

Cannot wait til the reg gets here.

Thx in advance for input.

Mine loves CCI Stingers, Mini Mags, Blazers, Velociters and Federal blue box. It hates Winchester 333 and Remington Yellow Jacket. I had the best success running the higher velocity stuff like Stingers to break it in. I had lots of FTF with certain ammo and I still get lots of issues with the Winchester ammo even after about 1200 rounds through it.

The main advice I'd give you is to buy a box of everything and see what your gun likes. It's possible yours will run great with stuff mine hates.

This..^^^
I feed my Sig1911-22 a steady diet of Win333/555's because it's available cheaply and easy to find. It runs fine on this stuff until things start getting dirty.
My Sig has also seen Blazer bulk, Wildcat bulk, Rem Golden, CCi HV and all seem to run fine but I do notice copper washed ammo load better and my fingers don't get as nasty. YMMV

I was having issues with Failure to Fires on my GSG, so I contacted American Tactical Imports regarding these concerns and this was the reply:
Typically when you are experiencing issues with new firearms it is because they have yet to be broke in. This usually takes about 300 rounds. Until then you may experience some minor issues. What we typically recommend is to give the firearm a thorough cleaning, especially around the bolt face. After cleaning wipe away any excess cleaner/lubricant. When you bring the firearm to the range do not use any lubricant. These firearms were designed to fire dry. We also recommend customers use Federal and CCI ammunition. They tend to work the best. Other brands of ammunition can sometimes cause malfunctions. If you are still experiencing issues after the break in period and taking the steps we recommended you may have to send your firearm in to have it inspected by our gunsmiths.
In short, try differenta ammo and see what it likes....I have yet to find one that it loves...I'm now replacing the firing pin due to the light strike issue. I know this is somewhat off topic but I thought it may be of benefit in some shape, way or form.

Only internal job I've ever one to mine, was to polish he feed ramp........ Really has been flawless since then...... 8500 rounds then the zink guide rod broke. Waiting for a new one, but honestly been great value for money....
