If you are getting a scope mount for your GSG STG 44 what scope do you plan to use?

Considering the distance forward this scope mount sits on the rifle what is a good choice for an optic that works well but wouldn't look completely out of place on this WWII era rifle reproduction?

I picked up a Bushnell first strike for mine. My STG44 should be here friday can wait to see how it will look on it.

The clamp on ones look absolutely retarded.

Please post a picture of your rifle when you have your Bushnell first strike mounted on it.

Thanks,
Litz

The problem with the clamp-on model is that it mounts too high. Can't maintain a cheek weld, too bad as I hoped to leave the rear sight on. I returned my claw mount.

Same
I just stayed with iron sites, plenty of fun without a scope :)

what rings are you guys using to mount your scope? Since it's .22 LR think I can get away with cheap UTG 1" rings, I'm thinking of putting on a basic Bushnell 3-9x40 with illuminated reticle on mine. DILLIGAF --> Looks like you have low mount on your scope, does it clear the front sight?

Nein Nein! Is gut German sturmgewehr, ja? You need gut German optik! Zeiss, ja, or Leica! ;)

Can anybody confirm that you need a scope with long eye relief with the OEM scope mount? (e.g. a standard riflescope with 4-5 inch of eye relief will not work?)

Im thinking of putting the Nightforce on it for accuracy testing... lol.. But I would need a super high cheek riser ... lol...

I appreciate the thanks, But im just an Carpenter in the military. My job isn't the most dangerous compared to the guys in the infantry.
