GSG vs. SiG 1911 in 22lr

I bought a GSG today, at Cabelas.
I was informed that the Sig OD version comes with at least one extra magazine, and a holster as well. Was approx $100 more for the Sig over the GSG at their retail price. However they price matched P-D's price of $315 for the GSG, so at $200 less than the Sig its an absolute no brainer.
I would have bought from P-D, but they only had the wood handle version, and I prefer the black handle. Normally I would shop P-D any day over Cabela's.

Oh and also, I looked at the Sig OD one they had on display, their was significant wear on the slide just from the plastic holster it comes with. So if you want a holster for this gun, maybe look at a leather or nylon one, or else you will probably get significant wear quickly on your slide as well.
Actually a little internet searching does come up with one possible issue with the Sig.
The extra cost is supposedly because instead of using a cast alloy slide they opted for a machined aluminum slide.
This is more expensive and should be 'better'.
But there have been a few reported cases of this aluminum slide cracking and the way that you become aware of the problem is when hot gas hits your hand or your face. This has been reported a number of times on the 1911 Forum. I'd hope it's been rectified by now...but it's the reason I went with the GSG instead of the Sig, not the price.
