Gsg1911 ruined paint on slide

Hi CGN.

2 questions to guide me on my way
I ruined the finish on my gsg1911 slide.

If I remember well the gsg slide doesn't fit standard 1911 fitting sights.
Before re-finishing the slide it might be a good idea to have the beaver tails recut so I can fit standard sights on them. Who can do that for me? And a estimate price?

As with most threads like this, a picture tells more than a thousand words.

The ' dovetail ' cut outs for the sights should be unaffected by any finish related issues, like scratches or gouges. You're best bet for sights is Dlask. They fit the standard cut outs but they're a big step up. I don't have dozens of samples available but none of what I do have comes close so that's probably your best bet.

As to refinishing, Armacoat should solve the problem.
