Hello,
I am considering a 22 calibre based on the 1911 platform and the GSG1911 and Chiappa 1911-22 seem to be possible choices. Would you guys be able to tell me the differances between the two. I am new to pistols and would appreciate your opinions.
Thanks in advance.

The first batch of Chiappa 1911s looked like crap.

But the latest models look pretty good. I think they realized they would crash and burn if they didn't keep up with GSG.

I think Chiappa deserves a second look.

At this moment a supporting retailer is selling Chiappa rebrands for $300 with taxes AND shipping anywhere in Canada included. Also comes with two mags.

For that price you really can't go wrong in my opinion.

personally if I have to choose.... I'd go always with GSG 1911-22
mine eat all kind of ammo and after more then 5K on pipe, I can say this GSG is a good 22 pistol, 100% accurate and reliable....

That looks very nice!

I picked up a Chiappa 1911 .22lr for $300 after shipping and tax. For that price I couldn't afford not to buy one. Basically the only complaint I've seen is poor feeding and extracting when cheap federal bulk ammo is ran through it. I will just run CCI as people say the pistol works great with that. For the GSG I would be spending well over $400 bucks. Hey, it's just a .22 why spend so much?

@logon1080, How's the trigger on the Chiappa? Dealer test it to be 9#, seems a lot for a 22lr.

Also read in older reviews trigger has lots of creep, is that still a problem with the current model.

Heres the definate VS answer

glad I got the GSG then... even tho I spent almost more then the guns value on Sights, Grips, safety, grip screws and custom SS Steel gide rod full lenght, ;)

I love my GSG....
