HELP!!! Here's the story...I belong to CFB Borden Rod & Gun. Some doofus from the fishing side of things brought guests that weren't licenced to fish and they were caught. The powers that be then declared, "No more guests"!! For ANYONE!!! Until that changes, it's members only so I can't bring a guest shooter. I have a buddy who's new to hunting in Canada, and though he was a shooter in Poland, he has no place to practice and bring his skills back up. Is there a kind soul who'll take pity on me and my bud and either have us as guests at his range, or point us in the right direction to get some shooting in. FYI, I've been shooting for about 45 years and I'm also a qualified RSO, so I wouldn't be an embarassment to a fellow shooter and I'll take full responsibility for my Polish buddy. Anyone?

Hi Lawrence,

I believe Silverdale allows to come as guest on Saturday/Sundays. There might be a fee of $20 though.

what they offer

Shooting Bays

We have two independent shooting bays which each have 10 individual shooting positions. The target can be placed as far as 25 metres from the firing point.

We are rated for and authorized to shoot firearms up to .500 AE (very big) and 12ga Shotguns.

We also are authorized by the Ontario Chief Firearms Officer (CFO) to allow shooters to shoot .223 and .308 Winchester rifles as long as they use our supplied frangible ammunition.

Licensed shooters are welcome to use our modern indoor facility. You may also bring unlicensed guests with you.

Simply ensure you have a proper ATT and then come on in. We are a “section 29” approved facility, so as long as your ATT allows you to visit other “approved” ranges, we can be your destination.

The Cost:

$40 per day for anyone over 18 years old
$20 per day for anyone under 18 years old


Sorry, but we do not have any shorter passes available.

Target holders and staplers are provided as well as one target. You can purchase more in our pro-shop or bring in more of your own.

Things to consider:

1) We do not allow steel jacketed or steel cored ammunition. Basically if a magnet will stick to it, you cannot shoot it in our facility.

2) We do not “rent” firearms. If you wish to use any of our range firearms, we will have to directly supervise your session. However, this is also a great opportunity for you to try many different firearms that you may be thinking about buying.

3) If it is our gun, it is our ammo! You cannot use your own ammunition in our range guns. For liability reasons, we must control every round that goes into one of our inventory firearms. You are free to use your ammo in your firearms.

4) All guests under the age of 18 must have the waiver signed by their LEGAL parent or court appointed guardian. We do accept fax or scanned copies. However, we will call to confirm legitimacy.
