Here's the deal.... just started 8 week trial for a Peterborough area revolver/pistol club. I have in the mean time purchased two pistols I would love to get comfortable on other than shooting someone else's different club gun every week until I ....hopefully get excepted. I am looking for a day range I can pay daily fee to shoot at and get comfortable with my firearms. I have shot rifle and shotgun for ages but hand gun is new to me and a little disappointed in my accuracy first two visits to range I'm applying to. I am looking for any day range I can pay and play in the GTA although closest to east end the better!!!!
Any info appreciated.

Silverdale allows walk ons but you need to show proof of a completed club course or complete theirs. Urban Tactical is nice. Haven't been to Target Sports but I hear the little wannabe gangbanger kids that go there for the try shooting packages are good for a laugh

^^^ it is cool to watch the shooting package folks. The ladies are especially worth watching - they go from a nervous shaking on their first few shots with a 9mm to a big grin after a few minutes. Don't knock what's happening at Target Sports - they're doing us all a huge favour by popularizing what we love.

Are you guys sure you can bring your own firearms and not be a member at target sports or urban tactical? As far as i know, you can't. Silverdale is the only range i know that allows that.

True dat. For Target Sports you have to get at least an associate membership ($125).

Ouch...that's a ways....There are at least three in the process of building in my immediate area but wont be ready until spring.......could have to be a patient man or....drive!

Whereabouts are these new ranges...are they indoor or outdoor? And all three opening up this spring2017?...
East GTA looking promising

Urban Tactical allows you to bring your own firearms. It's $50 for a daypass though. Nice indoor range. Their backstop can handle up to .50 BMG. Why you'd want to shoot a .50 indoors at 20m is beyond me though

Not knocking it at all. The try shooting packages have convinced more than a few people to get their PAL. It is funny to watch the little "homies" though

A few are not advertising it much but...One will be in Oshawa at a store that has been an Oshawa outdoor/gun store for ages. In Ajax Fire Arms Outlet Canada is either waiting approval or starting to build soon but they told me it is happening. On Hwy 115 North of Bowmanville/Newcasle East Hill outdoors is adding large addition that is to have a indoor shooting range.
Hope I did not violate any rules discussing businesses that are not sponsors of this site....although I think it is relevant to the shooting community of the eastern GTA

Urban Tactical has a $50 walk-on, however, I believe an annual membership is as little as $150 so you're better of just getting the membership if you think you'll go there more than once in a year.

Hey
I have been to urban tactical just email or call them first , you will need a letter of invite for your day pass.
silverdale is is nice been once also letter of invite needed call or email first.
target sports no day passes anymore unless it changed again.
correct me if i am incorrect
Glenn.

I'm in the probation at Peterborough Revolver & Pistol. Probationary period is 8 Wed nights, shooting club guns. Very new to pistol shooting and upset at my accuracy so far....that's why I want to go to a range where I can shoot more than 10 to 20 rounds a week during this period to get comfortable with grip and all.
