Once you know the trick to shooting a star, it's not really much different than shooting any other steel plate. Shot properly there is very little movement of the apparatus because you nail them before they get moving and cancel out the momentum. It ends up being a case of five shots for five plates and then on to the next target in the stage. What it does though, even more than regular plates, is it forces the shooter to stay on the sights and follow-through. That's what intimidates most shooters...especially shooters who don't shoot a lot of steel. The minute you try to look at the steel you miss a shot, and a missed shot in the middle of a star sequence means that now you are really shooting at moving plates. Much harder to do.
