Guelph Rod and Gun CQB September 19

yes, and i wish you good luck on the mandatory reload

DINK

On the 2 to the body, one to the head stage, many of us never get the second mag loaded and fired. And in our rush, we often fail to get a score out of the first 3 shots.

I am very accurate with a revolver, fired single action. I bet if I just fired 3 well aimed shots, I would get a score.

Good match today. Things ran pretty much smooth. Obviously the MD did not have the usual Tim magic as we did get rained on...but hey, Service Conditions.

Thanks DINK for putting on this event. It was a fun time.

Well, some shooters got rained on, luckily I was under cover for the monsoon that came along at the modified prone stage. My hat is off to the lady who willingly went out and shot that match on the ground while it was still pouring...on her own.

Many thanks to DINK and Victoria for putting on a great event, do it again, and I'll be there.

I'd like to add a thank you as well to Dink27 and his wonderful spousal unit. This was a fun match. I was pleased to see the number of first time shooters in attendance. There were more there than at any ORA CQB I have attended. This is a good thing for this type of match. There wasn't the intensity of an ORA CQB match and so it was great for first timers to get the basics and digest the flow of a match. They will do well when they go on their first ORA CQB match.
For the experienced shooters it was a chance to try out different guns and equipment than we usually use. The M14 clone can do the job, but for serious shooting the AR15 rules.
The Dinkfoo wasn't strong enough to hold off the rain like the Timfoo does. The pansies huddled under shelter till the heavy rains subsided.
Thanks again.

Ganderite, you aren't the first to wait outside of a locked gate because you have the wrong date, time or range. To all you young folks out there snickering, your day will come.;)
Yes, getting old sucks. But it still beats the alternative.:)

Thanks to Dink27 for putting on a fun match. I can only imagine it was like herding cats with so many of us noobs out there. The rain actually made it more fun...except for the 45 minute ride home in soaked clothes. Thanks also to Bugout for keeping our squad of mostly newbies in line and thanks to everyone else for the great comradery. Can't wait for the next one.

I was Noob not that long ago, I always enjoy seeing new people come out, the sport needs them. I made (and still make) all of the typical mistakes, and am glad that I was able to help out. The bonus was I finally got to use that waterproof writing pad.

Any pictures and are these events run only once a year? Dam was to late to see the OP for registration.

Guelph - yes it appears they are annual or less frequent. Too bad, all good fun.

ORA at CFB Borden - pretty much monthly matches April-November. See the stickies at the top of this sub-forum. Normally lots of pictures posted in after action report threads for the ORA matches.
